According to the HoustonTexans.com website, it is official: Domanick Davis has landed on IR. This is not surprising given the difficulties with his knee and his inability to play since the first days of camp.
The Texans sixth round pick, Wali Lundy will get the start for the Texans with second year player Vernand Morency likely splitting carries. Both seemed to run Gary Kubiak's system well--north south running without risking negative yards behind the line of scrimmage.
At times during the preseason, both have had issues pass blocking. Lundy missed some assignments in the Rams game, and Morency missed one in the Denver game that got backup quarterback Sage Rosenfels flattened. Throughout camp, Kubiak has emphasized that his offense runs so much that he wants to make sure that the running backs split carries.
Also announced was that Seth Wand, originally practicing in the offseason with the first team at left tackle will be waived. Rookie third round pick Charles Spencer will be getting the start at left tackle and has played well in the preseason. Eric Winston has also been taking reps at that position.
