Coach John Bunting and the Tar Heels seems to pull off at least one major upset each year. And while the Tar Heels don't yet possess the talent to win every game on their schedule, they sure have enough weapons to win any game on their schedule
An interesting article in this morning's Staunton (VA) News Leader highlights this trend:
"Kenan Stadium has been the site of several noteworthy victories for the Tar Heels under Bunting. Is today the day the Heels conjure up some more Kenan mojo? It's unlikely, but very possible if the Tar Heels play solidly in all three phases of the game and avoid turnovers.
Bunting's first Tar Heels team in 2001 started with three straight losses before they turned their season around with a 41-9 rout of sixth-ranked Florida State.
Two years ago, North Carolina was 3-4 after a lopsided loss at Utah, but a surprising 31-28 win over No. 4 Miami helped propel the Tar Heels to a bowl berth.
And last season, North Carolina bounced back from a blowout loss to the Hurricanes by upsetting No. 19 Boston College in Chapel Hill."
