Prosecutors Think Foley's on Steroids Now

Because it wasn't enough to shoot him three times, the criminal investigator in the Steve Foley case is now advancing suspicions that Foley's a steroid user. Here's what Dan Nordell wrote in an affidavit for a search warrant:
"His history of aggressive and even violent contact with law enforcement indicates the possibility of more than mere alcohol involvement. "(Steroids) can cause erratic behavior in those that use them. This has been given names like 'roid rage for the uncontrollable outbursts and violence experienced by some users."
I missed the part where he talked about any evidence or reason to believe that steroids are involved in this. Erratic behavior? Is that really the best he's got? That's a reason to test someone for steroids now? I behave erratically nearly twenty-four hours a day, and I wouldn't know "the cream" or "the clear" from a bowl of blueberry oatmeal. Did anyone test Mel Gibson for steroids?

It seems very much to me like the police department knows they're going to have a public relations battle on their hands, and it might just be convenient for them to throw around a buzzword like "steroids" to sort of sway the public opinion.

You know what behavior I find to be erratic? Putting three bullets into an unarmed man. That, I find to be extremely erratic. One bullet, maybe I could see. Steve Foley's a big, strong, guy, but he probably got the message when the first bullet tore through his skin, shredding and burning his muscle and bone along the way. Why exactly were were two more slugs necessary?

Well, maybe the cop just come off a big Dianabol cycle, and was exhibiting "erratic behavior that has been given names like 'roid rage.'" Or maybe it's something else. If it's OK to start throwing around accusations with no evidence to support them whatsoever, I could think of a few for a cop who shoots an unarmed, rich, and famous black man three times, in the same week that previous charges against that black man for battery of a police officer were dropped.

Yes, a couple of things come to mind.
