What's the big deal?

Well, Oregon recovered a controversial onside kick with a couple minutes left in the game, leading to a last-minute touchdown and the crazy coaching error by Bob Stoops referenced in this post.

Wait... you saw that game and focused on Bob Stoops running the ball?

I kinda only caught the last little bit, since I was busy watching Michigan obliterate Notre Dame 47-21. Sorry.

Anyone who's been monitoring the comments of the aforementioned post knows there is a minor blood war going on between Oregon and Oklahoma fans about that controversial onside kick. Most of the discussion centers on whether or not an Oregon player touched the ball before it went ten yards. The general consensus amongst neutral fans is that he did. But that's all moot now:

Touched before ten yards? Who cares? Oregon never recovered the ball.

Most amazingly, this play was reviewed. And it stood!

Good Lord. What recourse does Oklahoma have?

Almost none. The Pac-10 is "reviewing" the game and will "provide a statement," which will probably be along the lines of "our bad, dawg, let me buy you a sandwich."

Wait... Ralph D. Russo says OU fans should "get over it". Should we?

Absolutely not! Good lord, that call was obviously wrong two different ways, reviewed, and still wrong after review. The only proper justice for this situation is for the Pac-10 to reverse the decision and officially award the game to Oklahoma. This didn't happen in the second quarter: Oklahoma recovers the onside kick and they kneel for victory.

This is the most egregious refereeing decision in years.
