Kellen Winslow is taking a short break from being an idiot, and has instead opted for silence. He had nothing at all to say to the media today after head coach Romeo Crennel had plenty to say to him. "I'm the head coach and I'm the guy who calls the shots," Crennel said. "If he has displeasure with the shots that are being called, he should address them to me first. I'm calling the shots."Crennel met with Winslow and likely told him all of those things you see above, only, I presume, in a much louder voice with a few naughty words mixed in. Today, Winslow went into the locker room, put on headphones, and left the room without saying a word. No one really complained when he did that.
And whether Winslow realizes it or not, Crennel did him a favor by putting a gag on him. It doesn't do Kellen Winslow any good to be questioning his coaches in public or demanding more playing time. It's not good for team chemistry, it's not good for Winslow, it's not good for Crennel, and it's definitely not good for his public image.
If Winslow's as talented as he believes he is, that talent will eventually make itself evident on its own.
