Dunta Robinson Dishes on the Defense

The Texans defense is dead last in the league in defense, and their pass defense has been particularly atrocious. The question that Texans fans have is whether this is a result of facing Donovan McNabb and Peyton Manning, or a result of just being horrible, or both. Notably, the Giants have also played the Eagles and Indy and are ranked 31st in the league in pass defense.

The Redskins are not ranked 1 and 2 in pass offense like the Colts and Eagles. Their passing offense is ranked in the bottom third of the league. So are the Texans slump busters or are the Redskins not going to be able to find their offense on Sunday?

No part of the Texans defense has looked particularly good in the first two games, but the secondary has been singled out for special concern. During one play of the last game, standout cornerback, Dunta Robinson actually lifted his palms in the air as though someone missed an assignment as the play was still going on, and didn't make an immediate play on Marvin Harrison. Apparently, after that, he apologized to his coaches and teammates. He believes most of the mistakes the secondary is making are mental and not physical.

To hear Robinson discuss the Texans defense and the upcoming game against the Redskin, please check out this interview he did with ESPN 790's Charlie Pallilo. (Near the bottom of the page. A number of other good Texans interviews are there for those who are out of towners and can't listen to the local sportstalk).
