Most of us have wondered what the meaning of life is all about. If you are a Texans fan, the one answer you really want to know is this:
Why the $@#! can't Carr receive the snap consistently without mishandling or fumbling it? He has done this throughout his career with different centers.
I have finally got a legit answer. Seriously. You are reading it here first because it hasn't been reported in traditional media outlets.
From what I've been informed through a source, Carr sometimes does something during games sometimes that he doesn't do in practice. In practice, his hands behind center are pretty quiet, and he rarely "gooses" the center to get the snap.
However, throughout the games, Carr hands get a little fidgety and he repeatedly gooses the center. It can get confusing for the center at times between the cadence and the goosing, especially if the center is having trouble hearing.
I'd love someone in the legit media to ask the staff/players about this, because if the Texans didn't mishandle 2 to 4 snaps a game, maybe they wouldn't have short fields after fumbles or just plain kill drives. All but the most vehement Carr haters would agree that you can see some improvement in his performance over last year (faint praise), but the mishandled snaps have to go.
Ultimately, I'm guessing the moral of this story is that if you tap the center in the nads enough, he is going to give you the football.
