What a game. Things did seem to slow down for the Cardinals in the second half. Not sure where all the emotion went but it was not on the field anymore. They were outscored 13-3 in the second half which was caped off by a 78 yard pass to Larry Johnson that led to the eventual game winning field goal.

There was also a brief moment in the third quarter where I thought Edgerrin James was turning it on, but that slowed down quickly. He ended up gaining 71 yards on the ground in 24 carries. That marked the third time this season where his yards per carry were below 3. It was also the fifth time in five games this year he has failed to reach 100 yards rushing.

On the other hand Matt Leinart played well overall. He did throw a costly pick in the second half but ended with good statistics considering it was his first NFL start. He went 22 of 35 for 253 yards, 2 touchdowns and 1 interception. He also spread the ball around rather well, completing at least one pass to six difference receivers. His main target on the day was Bryant Johnson who caught 6 passes for 82 yards.Karlos Dansby had a fantastic game as he returned to the starting role. He recorded 9 tackles and 2 sacks on the day. It was really nice seeing him back out there in his normal role contributing the way he did. I said the defense needed a spark and despite the loss, he gave it to them.

Sure the Cardinals lost the game, but they put up a hell of fight throughout. It was a glimpse into the future for Cardinals fans and I have to admit, the future looks good. If only they could solidify the offensive line this team could really be something.

The Cardinals are now 1-4 on the season and start preparation for the NFL's best team. Next week the Chicago Bears come into town and the world will be watching on Monday Night Football. Here's to a strong performance.
