The Randy Moss radio appearances are by far the most entertaining part of the Raiders season. Too bad he is acting like a little girl. Moss lashed out at former Raiders player Howie Long, who had the audacity to call out the enigmatic receiver's passion for the game. (Like he was the only one.)
"For Howie Long to say something like that is kind of bad because he knows, as a former NFL player, what it takes to get up for a game every Sunday," Moss said. "You got to practice week in and week out. Back in them days, he was probably popping pills and tablets and all that to get them up and going.Uh, what?
"But nowadays with the drug-testing policies and the performance-enhancing policy, then it's hard for a player to just go out there with just himself and go out there week in and week out."
Maybe Randy was just making a joke. Maybe this was all just a conceived plug for his juice franchise. You know, "Today's players need a little pick-me-up. That's why I drink wheat grass smoothies from Inta Juice."
It would be much better than the truth. Moss has shown the maturity level of a teenage girl who was spited on myspace and has resorted to making up accusations about former players. Actually, that might be giving Randy too much credit.
And what is that they say about those who live in glass houses? Moss was the one who admitted that he smoked pot (once in a blue moon) and he wants to question Howie Long? A Pro Football Hall of Fame defensive tackle and former Super Bowl champion? This kind of stuff is bad when it happens on other teams. It is especially bad for the Raiders who pride themselves on their history. For somebody like Moss to call out the old guard is not only ignorant, but it is just plain stupid. (And really, does Randy think there are players in the NFL right now using any pills to get out of bed?)
Congratulations Randy, you have found a way to make Jerry Porter seem more credible.
