Special Report – Like a President addressing his nation, Stoops rest assure that the Sooners are moving on. The superstar running back, Adrian Peterson, suffered a collarbone injury in Saturday's victory over Iowa State, in what is his likely final collegiate game. Coach Stoops, saying it's very unfortunate and crushing for the young man, but not for the team. As the team, also feels for Peterson, too. In what sounds like damage control, Stoops says, it will not affect the play of the team.
Coach Stoops didn't count out any of the five running backs, including the three freshmen backs, Mossis Madu, Chris Brown and DeMarco Murray. In what is the likely, the immediate remedies for the Sooners are Allen Patrick and Jacob Gutierrez. Although, Coach Stoops wouldn't specify say, it would be running back by committee. Stoops praised his two veteran backs, Patrick and Gutierrez, citing previous on field performance.
For Adrian's future at Oklahoma, Coach Stoops wouldn't speculate. Only saying, Peterson has expressed to running backs Coach Gundy, he intends to play again. Stoops saying he wouldn't risk any injury for Peterson's early return in a bowl game.
