T.O. Scores, Takes a Nap
Hey, at least give Terrell Owens credit for being able to make fun of himself. After catching a third-quarter touchdown pass that put the Cowboys up 19-12, Owens proceeded to lay down in the end zone and use the football as a pillow.
Of course, Owens was flagged on the play because of the absolutely ridiculous celebration rules, and making the whole spectacle even more inane was the actual call from referee Terry McAulay: Taunting.
Taunting? Seriously? Who, exactly, was T.O. taunting? The football? Oh, silly NFL rules committee.
Going back to the celebration, I guess we should be glad that Owens didn't fake shoot himself in the head or something. Small mercies. (Although, T.O. probably wouldn't have drawn a taunting penalty for pretending to kill himself. Yeah, this isn't a stupid rule.)
