In making his picks this week, Peter King says this about the Texans:
"You go figure the Texans. I can't. Bunch of psychos. They're young enough and good enough to be a scary team, though. Watch that DeMeco Ryans at middle linebacker. He plays like a slimmer Ray Lewis."
He picks the Jaguars to win but not cover with a score of 20-13.
HoustonProFootball.com has
this nice preview of the Houston-JAX game that is worth a read.
The only thing I would add to it is that the Texans special teams has been very disappointing the last couple of games. Usually, they out perform the rest of the team, but lately they have been absolutely loss contributing.
In previous seasons, special teams coach Joe Marciano usually has had a designated guy to be a returner, but Gary Kubiak this year has emphasized that he wants a returner that can contribute on other parts of the team. At this point, they are just looking for consistency and picked up
Dexter Wynn who was released from the Eagles a couple of weeks ago. He can return both punts and kickoffs, and has played backup defensive back.
