Romo Has Lunch with the Other Other Simpson

There were rumors earlier this week that Cowboys' quarterback Tony Romo had a big date with Jessica Simpson. Well, Romo had a date with a Simpson, just not Jessica. In fact, not even Ashlee. According to Matt Mosley's Cowboys Blog we find out the scandalous details:

At this time I can only confirm that Romo went to lunch with Jessica's father, Joe, when he was in Los Angeles on Tuesday filming a segment for "The Best Damn Sports Show Period," which is hosted by former Cowboys backup quarterback Rodney Peete and several other men whose names escape me.

Yeah, that's embarrassing. And I'm not talking about "The Best Damn Sports Show Period" appearance. Anybody who's seen "Newlyweds" knows that Joe's no Jessica. Sure, he sports an earring, but that's where the similarities end. Plus, he always seemed to ruffle the otherwise unflappable Ms. Leinart, Nick Lachey. And if Lachey can't get along with the meddling old man, what chance does the newly famous, and probably a lot more talented, Tony Romo have?

At this point, Simpson's a few burritos and a shotgun second marriage away from being compared to Britney Spears. If Romo's smart he'll take a page out of the Tom Brady little black playbook. Start small (Tara Reid) and work his way up (Bridget Moynihan)
