Michigan-Ohio State Is The Greatest Rivalry In Sports. Duh.

This week's House Meeting is a discussion of what the best rivalry in college football is, but it should really be a discussion of what's second-best. Michigan and Ohio State meet Saturday. Both are 11-0. Ohio State is #1. Michigan is #2. The magnitude of the game dwarfs anything college fooball will see for many years, and it's representative of the rivalry itself.

Quick check for anyone who would like to debate this:
No, no, and no. But those are mere trophies to be placed upon the shelf. All rivalries are great and important, but Michigan and Ohio State define themselves in terms of each other more than any two teams in the country save Army-Navy, and the last time Army and Navy were undefeated heading into their matchup, Ronald Regan was co-starring with monkeys in B-list movies. The Iron Bowl may contain more raw hate. Army-Navy may be more important in the "one game season" sense. Florida State-Miami may have had more impact on the national championship race (until recently). But not one rivalry contains hatred, passion, and importance in near-maximum amounts like Michigan-Ohio State.

You are red. We are blue. We all must die.
