I'm not sure where this rumor got started, but Brad Scott quickly squashed the idea of him becoming the new offensive coordinator for FSU after the departure of Jeff Bowden.
I suppose the feeling is that Scott, now the Clemson offensive line coach, might desire a return to "former glory" and his days as offensive coordinator for the Seminoles in the early 1990s. Ya know, back when the mere utterance of the letters FSU put fear into opposing fans.
Scott had this to say about the situation:
"I have not been contacted, nor would I think I would be since I'm already working in the Bowden family," Scott said.Well good for him ... and Clemson. Scott has helped to guide the offensive line to being one of the best in the ACC as the Tigers lead the ACC in rushing offense and have allowed just 8 sacks this season.
"And if I am contacted, I would not be interested because I am happy here."
But did anyone really think that Bobby would hire a coach right out from under his son Tommy's nose?
