Theismann was in town to do the Panthers/Bucs game on Monday night, Johnson got into his ear during a production meeting.
"The guy called me an idiot a couple of years ago when I was de-activated in Tampa," Johnson said. "I just told him that's not acceptable. I'm a guy with a degree from the University of Southern California. Idiots don't get degrees. Especially when you don't know what transpired within the organization, I'd just assume you would keep your mouth shut, because the next time that I'm an idiot on national television, I'm not going to be so nice. That was pretty much the conversation."Not to split hairs, but I know idiots with degrees. Still, I'm siding with Keyshawn on this one, my recent Theismann-love notwithstanding. A guy calls him an idiot, and he's got every right to let him know that he didn't like it. You can say what you want about Keyshawn Johnson (and please, feel free), but I'd never consider him a guy who falls into the category of "dumb."
Theismann probably doesn't even remember it. For some reason, I picture him as a guy who can't get to sleep at night without a handful of Lortabs and a 32-oz. Tom Collins in a plastic 7-11 cup. Anything to bury those mental images of Lawrence Taylor and ease the pain of sitting next to Kornheiser every Monday night.
