After losing to the Pittsburgh Steelers on a last-second play a week ago, the Cleveland Browns returned to the form we've all grown accustomed the past few years: a 30-0 drubbing at the hands of the Cincinnati Bengals.Quarterback Charlie Frye threw four interceptions, Braylon Edwards was a no-show (must've still been thinking about how he really feels about that Chad Johnson-Brian Russell hit) and the Bengals defense looked dominating for the first time, well, ever. The AP reported that:
Following an interception, Edwards and Frye angrily exchanged words and had to be separated. Earlier this week, Edwards criticized Cleveland's conservative play callingIt's good to see Edwards has all the smack-talking ability of a Kellen Winslow Jr. with none of the toughness. I'm sure that's very reassuring for head coach Romeo Crennel.
And what about Ocho Cinco? Well, he had another huge day. After struggling to get involved during the first half of the season, Johnson has his third consecutive big game, catching seven balls for 123 yards. Also according to the AP, "...the shutout was the Bengals' first since Dec. 3, 1989, a span of 269 games. That one also came against the Browns... "
The Browns were the last team shut out by the Bengals? Shocking, I know. I guess the good news is that the 1989 unit isn't the same Browns team now stinking up Cleveland. That team is now in Baltimore and they just blew out the Steelers to go to 9-2. Yeah, that probably doesn't help.
