Wizards Petition To Play All Of Their Games At Home

OK not really, but they absolutely should. The disparity between the Wizards at home and the Wizards on the road is, well, disparate. The Wiz ended the Mavericks' 12-game win streak with a blowout 106-97 win (naturally) at home. I say blowout because Dallas really was never in the game. Washington was up eight after one, up 18 at the half, and up 22 after three before cruising in the fourth to their seventh victory in nine home tries.

So far this season, it has truly been a Jekyll and Hyde performance for the Wizards, depending on where the games are played. At home, the Wiz are now 7-2, including wins over Cleveland and Dallas. Gilbert Arenas is hot at home, averaging over 33 points per game. On the road however, it's another story.

Washington's road record stands at 0-8, including a 20-point loss to the Knicks in New York, and a 15-point loss to the Grizzlies in Memphis. Seriously, you know you have problems when you lose to a team that has a girl in their starting lineup! Arenas averages just over 17 per game on the road, which is obviously not going to be enough when his team is losing by an average of more than 12 per game in their road contests.

Some would say Arenas is methodical in his approach to home games versus road games. I say it's a mental block the team must overcome if it's going to challenge in the atrocity that is the Eastern Conference this season. Their next chance is Wednesday at New York, and if Washington's for real that would be a good time to start showing us.
