Heartening news for Oklahoma fans.
Oklahoma tailback Adrian Peterson returned to the Sooners on Friday after team doctors gave the OK for him to practice and play in the Fiesta Bowl. Peterson has been out since breaking his collarbone Oct. 14 against Iowa State.Ironically, that was the same game that Peterson's father was finally able to see his son play after his release from prison.
In his absence, the Sooners have put together an amazing final push. They won seven straight and beat Nebraska in the Big 12 Championship game. As reward, they're now playing in the Fiesta Bowl on New Year's Day against Boise State. Peterson's return is the cherry on top of a fantastic last two months.
Peterson continues to lead the team in rushing with 935 yards, but in his absence Allen Patrick and Chris Brown have been impressive. The duo have totaled 1,043 rush yards and 10 touchdowns.
