I don't know what it is but super dreamy Tom Brady just doesn't play well in Miami. I don't know if it's the distracting metrosexual vibe that permeates the city, the allure of South Beach (Madonna! Versace!) or something totally unrelated, but whenever Brady plays the Dolphins he struggles.
And Sunday was no different; the Dolphins shut out the Patriots 21-0. Miami pressured Brady all day (they sacked Patriots' QBs five times) and he was eventually replaced by tackling dummy/backup quarterback Matt Cassel just to make sure nobody actually died during the game.
The New England Patriots' best play was an illegal forward pass. It was that kind of day for Tom Brady and his offense. Miami sacked Brady four times, forced him to fumble twice, held him to 78 yards passing and blanked the Patriots 21-0 Sunday. The much-maligned Joey Harrington finished 18-of-30 for 190 yards and a touchdown and Sammie Morris, subbing for an injured Ron Brown, reeled off 128 rushing yards.
You know, that Belichick coaching tree is great and all, but only if the branches aren't beating the crap out of the trunk. By the way, somebody should remind Brady that the Super Bowl's in Miami this year.
