- Grossman hasn't had the opportunity to drop back, scan the field, and make his own read very much tonight. Probably not more than two or three times. I don't think that's accidental. Hell take a quick drop and hit the short option, no matter how badly he wants to just heave it deep for Bernard Berrian on every play. Even the 20-yard TD pass to Mushin wasn't a read situation, he look that ball go almost immediately after the snap. Basically, at least for one game, the Bears didn't start Brian Griese ... they turned Rex Grossman into Brian Griese.
- Grossman deep to Berrian on another one of those quick lofts here ... Bernard Berrian gets behind Tye Hill, and Hill gets called for pass interference. First and goal from the 7 for the Bears here.
- Wow ... Leonard Little is out of the game after taking a shot in the throat (not like that). I didn't even know that he was out of the game, but apparently, he's in the locker room, and he's not coming back. Thank you, Suzy Kolber ... and you suck, other three guys in the booth.
- Adrian Peterson gets the carry, the Bears line pushes the Rams line back into the endzone ... and Adrian Peterson could've done the worm into the endzone there. This second half has been less than competitive. 35-13, Bears.
- Just because this game is over, and there isn't much more to talk about ... I wish the Rams hadn't switched from blue and yellow, to blue and gold. Just my personal preference.
- Steven Jackson catches a short pass over the middle ... and Ricky Manning Jr. kills him. Brutal hit ... like Jackson had a laptop in an Eat 'n Park.
- And it's the "Short pass to Steven Jackson over the middle" show.
- Mark Anderson of the Bears gets in the backfield after Marc Bulger, and Bulger nearly loses his head. Ouch. That looked like it hurt. He just clubbed in the head/neck/facemask area. That looked painful.
- Bulger went for Bruce there for a gain that would've put the Rams inside the 10, but Bruce stumbled. For some reason, Brian Urlacher and Isaac Bruce had works on the way back to the huddle.
- And it's Torry Holt with another drop. This one, in the endzone. Who is he, Terrell Owens? Of all the things that could've plagued the Rams tonight, I wouldn't have guessed that Torry Holt drops would've been one of them.
- Bruce and Urlacher are still jawing.
- And Holt finally holds on to one ... Bulger was lucky to get that one in there. If Peanut Tillman had turned his head, that would probably be a touchdown. Unfortunately, the Rams needed Torry Holt to catch a couple of the earlier balls, not that one.
- Now that's not to say that this loss is Torry Holt's fault ... that would be very very very far from the truth, actually. The score would probably be exactly the same. It's just so unusual to see it.
- The Rams opt against the onside kick here ... and Devin Hester's just going to make them pay. Devin Hester and a good defense is apparently all you need to be a winning football team. Unreal player. Hester high-steps it in from the 20 ... while the Bears were lined up for the onside kick.
- 3rd and 3 ... Bulger incomplete to Steven Jackson. The Rams are going to go for it here. I wish the NFL had a mercy rule.
- Complete downfield to Kevin Curtis... and Chris Harris just blows him up. Unfortunately, Harris lead with his helmet, and stuck it directly into Kevin Curtis's earhole. 15 yard penalty, and rightfully so.
- 4th and 5 here for the Rams now. Bulger just got buried under three Bears on that last play. And we have a delay of game. Of course we do.
- Bulger to Steven Jackson ... touchdown Rams. Awesome. And the score is now ... eh, I don't care what the score is.
- Onside kick coming ... Bears recover.
- The Bears are still throwing the ball here ... they go to Desmond Clark, who is bouncing off of people. But it's coming back on a penalty.
- The Rams take over possession... there are still over 4:00 to play here. Bulger goes downfield for a 20-yard gain ... and this one's coming back. And the clock stops. Sweet.
- Bulger. Pass. Tipped. Dropped by Hester. Penalty. Dragging.
- 3rd and 25 here ... and wow, Torry Holt. He went up and got that one with one hand. I don't mean he brought it in to his body with one hand ... he caught and controlled and possessed it all with one hand.
- 2:00 warning here. 2:00 of play away from the sweet release of this game ending.
- Bulger's hit and fumbles. Awesome, penalty flag, too, so we can slow this thing down a little more.
- Hey, there's a catch by Kay-Jay Harris, the former West Virginia University standout. That's the high point of this second half for me.
- And Bulger's intercepted as he tries to force one into Isaac Bruce, and it came up short. Nice job by Peanut Tillman to get both feet in ... 1:05 to play, Chicago will be taking knees and DAMMIT, they are reviewing this thing. Please just let me go.
- Alright, we're finally taking knees here ... and I'm leaving you. Enjoy the rest of your night.
