The "Best 6-Year-Old in the Country" Debate

I really, really don't want to become known as the guy who watches too many videos of six-year-old kids, but I think I may have jumped the gun buying into the hype proclaiming Marquise Walker as the nation's "best 6-year-old basketball player." Walker is certainly very good, but when it comes to ranking the nation's best kindergarten ballers I'm now convinced that young Donovann Toatley deserves a spot in the conversation.

I like the guy in the background around the 1:25 mark who's watching Donovann and then just turns around in shame once he realizes he'll never have a handle like this kid. I mean, seriously, this was downright silly, was it not? This kid already has more game than most of the guys in your average rec league -- and he (probably) doesn't even know how to tie his own shoelaces! Plus, I gotta give Donovann extra props for wearing the Gilbert Arenas jersey -- he certainly knows how to tug an NBA blogger's heartstrings. (And yes, the kid can shoot, too.)

What's even better is that Donovann knows that Marquise has been getting all of the attention, and he's just not having it: "He ain't ready yet! He's not ready for ME!" If you read the comments here it sounds like Marquise's dad is dodging Donovann's dad's request to set up a match between these two tykes. Right about now I feel like I should be saying something about preserving the sanctity of youth sports or something, but I think I'd actually pay to see these two play each other.
