Rookie Texans linebacker, DeMeco Ryans had played every defensive snap for the Texans this season, until the last game where he left in the fourth quarter. He had to be forced to leave the game, according to Gary Kubiak:
"That was the only reason he left is because we made him. You know he was banged up and he was hobbling around. (Defensive coordinator) Richard (Smith) called down to me to tell him to come off the field. We made him come off. We sent in a guy for him; he would not leave. He sent him back to the sidelines. And then we made him come off"
Once again, Ryans had a double digit tackle game. It was his 4th game in a row with double digit tackles, and his 8th for the season. His tackle numbers are tops in the league for linebackers.
He needs to be named Defensive Rookie of the Year and cloned. Hopefully he is just a little football dinged and not hurt hurt.
(The picture, by the way, is not the DROY trophy, but rather the gigantic bowling trophy that the Texans have in their locker room. It's the best they can do for hardware right now.)
