Reno Mahe Had a Nice Return For Once

Eagles fans all across the Delaware Valley, myself included, have given Eagles return man and sometimes Chickie's and Pete's host Reno Mahe a lot of crap over the years. He's one of Andy Reid's Brigham Young guys which many people hold against him as the only reason he is still on the Eagles roster. To be fair, he isn't as bad as we make him out to be. I've claimed he's the kind of guy who is never going to break a return for a touchdown and on Sunday he came close.
Reno Mahe had a career-best 64-yard kickoff return that set up the Eagles' third touchdown of the game, a 28-yard fourth-quarter run by Brian Westbrook that gave the Eagles a 21-16 lead during yesterday's 36-22 win over the New York Giants.
After all the criticism we've given Reno, we'd like to congratulate him on a nice game changing return for once. To carry on our role as a cynical Eagles fan, if he had break away speed, it likely would have been six for the Birds.

It's easy to criticize a guy who is near the bottom of the roster. It seems as though Reno is a nice enough guy at least. Mahe is just happy to get a chance to make plays.
"Westbrook kept texting me and talking to me and said, 'I have faith in you' and 'keep it going,' so things like that, you want to play for guys like him," Mahe said. "I am just grateful for the opportunity and I can't complain about any role I have."
There we go again with NFLers and their texting. So we will now officially try to lay off the Reno bashing for a while. We're a Christmas present of Reno taking a return to the house.
