If Nothing Else, Michael Vick Leads the League in Realness

Michael Vick would rather Jim Mora Jr. didn't try to explain his comments for him.

The shiftless Atlanta Falcons offense had maybe their worst performance of the season against the Panthers on Sunday. The Falcons had just 177 total yards to the limp and lifeless Carolina Panthers. After the loss, quarterback Michael Vick was critical of the offensive gameplan and its lack of direction.

Head coach Jim Mora Jr. heard Vick's remarks and attributed them to frustration. Not the case, says Vick.
"I wasn't frustrated or upset and didn't have a frown on my face when I said it. We have too much talent to be sitting in this position. I was just keeping it real.''
So there you go. When Jim Mora Jr. gets fired in a week or two, there will be three reasons: 1) The Falcons weren't good enough this year. 2) His very poorly thought-out comments on the U. of Washington head coaching job. And 3) He does not keep it real.

Nice try by Mora, though. "No, Michael's not at all unhappy with the coaching staff. He was just frustrated. Yeah, that's the ticket! Frustrated."

No, I'm sorry, coach, he really does think that your offensive gameplan was terrible. Michael Vick just would like to make it clear that his postgame comments were a statement of fact, and not a statement born out of anger or emotion. At the heart of this issue is not anger, not emotion, not frustration, but the cold, hard, indisputable fact that the Falcons offensive gameplan really sucked.

Mora's a dead man walking.
