The Gift Of Slava: The Atlanta Hawks just signed former Laker great, and world-renowned charmer Slava Medvedenko. I guess now is as good as any time to let you know about my experience with following Slava as a Laker supporter. Let's just say that he caused me more headaches than just about any athlete I've ever had the misfortune of rooting for. For a man with a limited skillset, not even once did I see him pass up the opportunity to launch a shot. Proper defensive rotation was as foreign to him as the English language, and don't even get me started on his rebounding (or lack thereof.)

But, don't worry Hawks fans, Slava is great at doing interviews with the media. That has to count for something, right?

A World Of Hurt: High-flyer Josh Smith got some hernia cut up this week (which I'm sure was absolutely delightful), so he'll be out for the next month or so. The Hawks have also lost six in a row. But fear not, Slava is here to save the day!

Ty Lue's Mom Shoplifted:
Can't say that I'm not disappointed that it wasn't her son doing the lifting; something about that dude just screams mischief. (Recommended: Use bugmenot.com should the newspaper article require registration.)
