Okay, it probably says a lot about me that I A) found the following quote hilarious and B) felt a touch of pride as well:"I had unprovoked cursing of my mother on High Street," Texas alum Chris McDermand said. "It made me feel really, really sorry for Michigan fans. If we got treated that poorly, I can only imagine how Michigan fans get treated. They're nuts."Hahahahahahahahahah. Ha.
This was also good:
"They were so rude," Texas student Amanda Brennan said. "I have never been anywhere like that. Even Arkansas fans weren't that rude. We were walking to our car after the game and there was a chair that had been thrown through the windshield of a van with Texas plates."Yes, Buckeye fans can stand tall today, because not even Razorback fans are as hostile as Buckeye fans.
I don't really understand why everyone acts like this is something of which we should all be ashamed.
Ok, maybe the chair through the van with the Texas plates is a little shaming. A little. But the rude behavior? Really? As long as we're talking about interactions between adults then I have no problem with fans of opposing schools getting harassed when they come to Columbus. Do people expect to be treated cordially? Apparently I've lived in Ohio too long because I don't understand that mindset. I've done more travelling following the Bengals than I have the Buckeyes, but I've been screwed with my fair share wearing my Bengals jersey to Detroit, to Pittsburgh, to Cleveland. And that's ok, I expected it. It's part of the experience. Sports fans shouldn't travel looking for camaraderie and fellowship. It's not American. I'm surprised, Texans are the last people I would have expected to whine about unfair treatment.
