1st quarter. 2nd quarter. 3d quarter. 4th quarter.
35-35.
One of the most bizarre sequences to get there in the final 2 minutes.
Boise wins the toss, they'll play defense as you would expect.
12:39: That was fast. Peterson on the first carry of OT takes it all the way.
Extrapoint is good.
42-35 Oklahoma.
12:42: Boise State's turn. Not much happening. It's now 3d and 7.
Short pass to Schoumann who gets it across for the 1st down.
A sort of trick play to fake the roll-out and then handoff. Only nets a couple yards to the 11. Johnson just barrels to the 4. A yard short of the 1st down. Johnson was stopped and as he bounced out, he lost a yard.
4th and 2. Boise takes a TO.
12:48: Zabransky goes in motion. TD pass to Schoumann from Perratta. Whoah.
Boise was going to go for 2.
Oklahoma called TO.
42-41 Oklahoma.
12:51: BSU still going for it.
Boise wins!!!
BSU lined up 3 WRs. Zabransky faked the throw and then gave it to Johnson who ran it in untouched the other way.
What a great call. Oklahoma was stunned by it.
Boise State wins the Fiesta Bowl 43-42!!!!
Some useful booth commentary. They said that BSU had run that look going for two points where they passed it to the WRs. Oklahoma knew that, BSU knew Oklahoma knew and made the change.
Great play calling and tremendous execution by Boise.
Congrats to Boise State with this win.
Bonus: Ian Johnson just proposed to his girlfriend -- a BSU cheerleader -- after his postgame interview. She said yes.
It is now after 1 am. Good to know Fox will be keeping the tradition of making BCS Bowl games reach excrutiatingly long lengths.
