Today, I was a guest with Lance Zierlein on the SportsRadio 610 morning show. He writes a fantasy football blog for the Houston Chronicle, and you can get his college and pro newsletter by emailing

His co-host John Granato was out, so he had lined up various guests today. (Jeff Van Gundy, Texans GM Rick Smith, Mike Ditka, The Golf Hour with Charlie Epps, and uh, me). I took some pictures for those of you who wonder what the studio looks like, though they are about to move to some renovated studios.

The Rick Smith interview is great by the way. He was very straight forward with his answers, and basically said that every position on the team is being evaluated, including quarterback.

You can find that interview, and ones from Gary Kubiak, David Carr, Anthony Weaver and others in 610's Audio Vault. It gives you a better feel of things that just being able to read limited written stuff.

ESPN 790, The Sports Animal (insert cheesy big cat growl here), makes available their audio files here.

I'm thankful that these resources are now available on the web, but I'm guessing they are even better for those of you who are out of the area who want to hear a little local flavor. During the off-season, all the best information was coming from the local radio interviews.

This is what the studio looks like from the other side. That computer in the front has the caller's names on them. Across the hall through the windows is where the show is produced. Cabinet has reference materials, and the room has two ESPNed TVs in it. I know this is descriptive minutiae of a studio that soon won't be used any more, but no detail is too small for the Texans FanHouse.

Thanks to all the folks at SportsRadio 610 for being such kind hosts.
