Georgetown Pantsing Notre Dame

I almost want to attribute Notre Dame getting absolutely demolished in the first 5 minutes against Georgetown to the fact that they have spent the past month at home. The last road game -- a trip to Washington D.C. and upsetting Maryland on December 3. That way, I can smugly point out the problem of not going on the road during the non-con. Too many teams, though, do it and don't suffer like this.

Notre Dame was down 18-2 and the only ND score had come from free throws. The Irish got their first score almost 5 minutes into the game. With 7:52 left in the half, Georgetown is ahead 29-9 with only 4:34 left in the half.

Both teams are down a player for this game. ND Point Guard Kyle McAlarney is still on suspension for his love of herbs. Georgetown's 6th man, Marc Egerson has withdrawn for "personal reasons."

ND is now playing its 3d game without McAlarney, so it's hard to accept that's the reason for being 0-6 on 3-point shots, around 9 turnovers and only 3 baskets. 3-20 shooting from the Irish.

All the while Georgetown is scoring with ease. Their backdoor cuts are not getting bumped. They are just moving faster then the Irish. Jeff Green has 13 points on 5-8 shooting. Georgetown had a week off before this game. Apparently they got ready for this one.
