It looks like Norm Chow really is think about leaving the Titans for a possible head coaching job – this time the talk centers around a position with the Arizona Cardinals. Chow dutifully denied any mid-season rumors that he was interested in a few college coaching spots, but, like most utterances about coaching futures, he may have been hedging his bets just a tad.And as much as it pains me to say it, Chow probably looks favorably on a reunion with his protégé Matt Leinart, who reportedly stopped by for lunch during Chow's meeting with Cardinals ownership and front office folks on Monday. The two of them did have a pretty good run at USC, after all, with Leinart winning the Heisman and the team eventually ending up and National Champions.
The Cards have one more candidate to interview today – Russ Grimm (remember him?) and have at least looked at four other candidates, including Colts Assistant Jim Caldwell. But I have to think that Chow's special relationship with Leinart might give him a leg up in the search.
I surely do pray to the gods of football coaching that Chow stays in Nashville to assist Vince Young in meeting his huge potential, but I can't honestly say that I'd blame him if he does choose to move on to a head coaching job.
