After days of going back and forth playing the "he said, she said" game, the guessing is finally over. According to WFAN and "The Blue Screen," Tom Coughlin will return to the New York Giants after signing a one-year contract extension. He is expected to hold a press conference today at A lot of people are going to be disappointed with this but the Giants didn't have much choice. They will be in need of a new general manager, new coordinators and new people in the front office. The Giants needed at least one thing to remain the same and Coughlin gives them exactly that.
The fact is that he brought the Giants to the playoffs each of the last two seasons, something they hadn't done in 16 years prior. If they would have replaced him they would have been doomed to "start over" as basically everything other then the players would have been broken down and replaced. It may sting to hear now but next year at this time Giants fans will be thankful he stayed.
