Earlier this year, Dallas quarterback Tony Romo was linked to Jessica Simpson and then Carrie Underwood. Turns out, neither was true. The Simpson rumor was easy enough to dismiss because she makes more money in an average weekend than Romo's made in his four-year career. Underwood, an "American Idol" winner, seems more believable since she's at the beginning of her career -- like Romo -- usually the time reserved for dating anybody remotely famous. Whatever, Underwood would like to finally clear the air:
"I have read some of the most ridiculous things about that," she says of reports that she's dating Tony. "The first time I ever met him was on Christmas, right there on the field. Everybody was like, 'Ooh, they are together.' And then I was blamed for Dallas not winning that game. . . . He is a very nice guy and I've talked to him a few times, but we are very much not together."Right. If Romo doesn't botch the hold on the game-winning field goal attempt, these two would be engaged now. I don't blame Underwood for distancing herself from Romo, but this would never happen to Tom Brady. Ever. Which makes me think Romo might have a shot with Tara Reid.
