The more things change, the ... more ... things ... change? Man, I didn't see that coming. And by "that," I mean, "Peyton Manning rebounding from an atrocious first half to play like he does whenever he's not facing the Patriots."

The Colts went into halftime down 21-6, then scored 15 unanswered points to tie the game midway through the third quarter.

New England and Indianapolis traded a touchdown and a field goal until late in the fourth, when Adam Vinatieri Stephen Gostkowski put the Patriots up three with just over three minutes to go in regulation. Indy and New England then traded three-and-outs, and the Colts got the ball back with 2:17 on the clock, down a field goal.

Here's what happened next:

  • 11-yard pass from Manning to Reggie Wayne;
  • Incomplete pass;
  • 37-yard pass from Manning to Brandon Fletcher;
  • 23-yard pass from Manning to Wayne (15-yard roughing the passer penalty on the Patriots);
  • Joseph Addai run for 5 yards;
  • Addai run for 3 yards;
  • Addai run for 3 yards ... and a touchdown.

Down four, New England got the ball with 54 ticks to go, moved the ball to the Colts 45 and ... Marlon Freakin' Jackson intercepted Tom Brady to end it. Unbelievable. Man, I really didn't see that coming.

Congrats to the Colts for scoring 32 second-half points and staging the biggest comeback in AFC Championship history, and especially Peyton Manning who can finally scratch "Beat Patriots in a Playoff Game" off his to-do list. About time.
