So what was going on with Caldwell last night? At one point late in the game, Caldwell was all alone, with no Colts within 15 yards of him, and Tom Brady threw him a pass for what should have been the easiest gain of the night. Caldwell dropped it. He also dropped what should have been a touchdown pass in the end zone, although the Patriots scored on the next play.
After the game, Caldwell blamed himself:
"It was right in my hands. I tried to run before I got the ball, but I took my eyes off the ball when I looked upfield.
"I missed some plays out there that could have helped our team. It wasn't my best performance, but I have to come back and work harder."
Yeah, I guess that's really all you can say at this point. It was the kind of game that must make him want to run away and hide.
