A regular feature profiling each of the 17 candidates for enshrinement in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Name: Bob Kuechenberg

Position: Guard

Career:
1970-1984 Miami Dolphins

Pros:
Important part of the early 1970s Dolphins, one of the great dynasties in NFL history.
Named to six Pro Bowls.

Cons:
Only named an all-pro twice, and it's hard to think of a player as a Hall of Famer if he was only considered the best in the league at his position two times in his career.

Verdict: I've already voted yes for two guards, so you don't have to tell me how important offensive linemen are. But Kuechenberg falls short of the greatness of Russ Grimm and Gene Hickerson. He gets a vote of NO.

Previous votes:
NO: Richard Dent, Fred Dean, Ray Guy, Michael Irvin
YES: Russ Grimm, Gene Hickerson
Note: By rule, the Hall of Fame must induct between three and six new members.
