According to ESPN's Ed Werder -- the guy who looks like one of the Simon's from "Simon & Simon" -- Philip Rivers re-injured his foot during the AFC Divisional Game and will miss the Pro Bowl. In fact, the the sprain was serious enough that Rivers wouldn't have played in the AFC Championship Game.
That's right people, Billy Volek would've been burdened with getting the Chargers to the Super Bowl for the first time ever. Maybe it's better we didn't have to see that.
Anyway, Rivers' replacement hasn't been named, but I hope it's Tom Brady. If he's not going to win another Super Bowl ring, Brady should at least get a free Hawaiian shirt. Plus, Bill Belichick might need some backup. Also, I'd suggest the Patriots head coach scrap any plans for a pre-game pep talk that includes the "Lights Out" dance.
Now, if somebody can just find a way to get Tony Romo off the roster.
