Doing some reading on Chris Henry's jail time, I came across this little nugget of info:Brown said players now have a designated driver number they can call for a ride anytime.Which is the message these players should have gotten a long time ago. Many of the Bengals drunk driving arrests have happened in Clermont County at DUI checkpoints which tells me there might be something going on there, perhaps an order from a higher level not to cut high profile names a break. That doesn't excuse the behavior, but it does point out that plenty of other NFL players might be getting pulled over in other cities but get breaks that Bengals players don't get.
They've been warned that the DUI limit of .08 blood alcohol is surprisingly easy to violate. And they've been told that celebrities make good targets for DUI stops because they bring attention and headlines to drunk driving.
And this shows that the Bengals do listen to fans. Because I can't count how many times I've heard people say "with all the money these players make they could have a limo carry them around when they go out drinking". Well, the team apparently agrees at this point, and is offering to pick them up when needed. Let's hope they take advantage of the offer.
