This time of year is all about player gossip, rumors and intentional misinformation. Jerome Solomon of the Chronicle says on his blog that rumors say the Texans are shopping David Carr for a third rounder.
ESPN is reporting that the Texans are considering taking running back high in the draft.
As it relates to Carr, I think the Texans are keeping all their options open. And one of those options is trading him. Personally, I see him back next year even though all the local talk is that he is gone.
As for taking a running back early in the draft, I said over a week ago that this wouldn't surprise me in the least. The ESPN report mentions Domanick Williams' (formerly Davis') improvement in his rehab, but the Texans made it clear at the end of the season that they are not going to run their business based on hope and assumptions that injured players will be better in time to play.
