According to The Plain Dealer, a Cleveland-based newspaper, anyway.Though we won't know for sure how the evening went until footage hits YouTube, for now, we'll have to settle for the highlights found in the paper:
The swank event was held on Sunday night, following the Cavs' loss to the unbeatable Suns. James sat on a throne (what else?) and charged attendants $1,000 each for the chance to laugh at him. The guests were served lobster, shrimp and scallop bisque (puff pastry, salmon, chocolate cake and fruits also made an appearance.)
-Damon Jones, Bron's
"There's a lot of great comedians on this list. I'm one of them. So I want to be paid like they get paid."-Comedian Alex Thomas visited the bottomless well (LeBron's age) for material:
"I knew something was special about LeBron when they started televising his high school games. . . . Whose the dude with the beard? They got one of the coaches playing. Somebody's dad is playing the game."-Show Him His Money:
"LeBron James is so rich, his checking account is getting laid."-The best line of the night, however, belonged to comedian Ralphie May:
"I don't think he [LeBron] calls anyone anymore. It's like, 'Have your people call my money.' "
