Just when you think you know what Jerimy Finch is going to do, he throws you a curve. If this confuses you, imagine what it's doing to Michigan coach Lloyd Carr (pictured).
Finch is the all-world defensive back for Indianapolis Warren Central. He had originally committed to Michigan, then backed out a month ago to commit to IU, then sort of backed out of that to take a visit to national champion Florida last weekend.
Now, it seems he's down to Indiana and Michigan, and it looks like the Hoosiers have the edge. Finch was at Wednesday's basketball thriller, when IU upset No. 2 Wisconsin. He sat near IU coach Terry Hoeppner and All-Big Ten receiver James Hardy. He got to watch Hardy get honored on the huge video scoreboard during a timeout.
Hey, in recruiting, you need every edge you can get.
Finch will make up his mind in the next few days, but nothing will be certain until he signs a national letter of intent. That will come next Wednesday.
Until then, brace yourself. Who knows when the next curve will come.
