The Pro Football Hall of Fame will announce its class of 2007 today between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. ET. The biggest question is whether this is finally the year for Redskins receiver Art Monk, who has been a finalist several times and is widely perceived to have his best chance in 2007.Other big names include Thurman Thomas (a surprising "no" vote last year who has a good chance this year) and Bruce Matthews (the most likely among the players eligible for the first time this year).
Check right back here this afternoon for the results and commentary. In the meantime, take a look at our series of profiles of each of the 17 finalists:
FanHouse votes:
YES: Russ Grimm, Gene Hickerson, Bruce Matthews, Paul Tagliabue, Thurman Thomas, Derrick Thomas
NO: Richard Dent, Fred Dean, Ray Guy, Michael Irvin, Bob Kuechenberg, Art Monk, Andre Reed, Charlie Sanders, Gary Zimmerman, Roger Wehrli, Andre Tippett
Note: By rule, the Hall of Fame must induct between three and six new members.
