Tim Hardaway hates gay people, blah blah blah. People, we have way more important things to discuss. All-Star weekend in Las Vegas is upon us! I'll be checking in all weekend with reports from the insanity, here's my tentative schedule of things I'll be attending:
Friday: I'm driving in from L.A. in the morning and should arrive midday. At night I'll be hitting "Kenny Smith's All-Star Celebrity Poker Challenge hosted by LeBron James." This could be really awesome or completely lame, we'll just have to wait and see. Either players will be challenging Barkley to $50,000 side bets all night, or they'll just show up for the photo-op and then head out hookering.
Saturday: The All-Stars have their practice at 1030AM at a small venue inside the NBA Jam Session at Mandalay Bay. This is going to be great, NBA players rolling straight from the strip clubs still drunk to run layup drills. I can't wait to see who shows up in the worst shape for this one!
After the practice I'll be checking out the Jam Session, which is the amusement park-like event where you can do things like dunk on eight foot rims or wait in line to shoot a free throw. Alright, it's a little better than that, but probably not something worth spending more than an hour or so at.
Saturday night and Sunday's plans after the jump.
Saturday Night: All-Star Saturday Night baby, I will be in attendance! Prices for tickets were out of control for the game on Sunday, so I pretty much blew my budget on a ticket for this. I know the events maybe aren't what they used to be, especially the Dunk Contest. But I think it's a blast just being there, and anytime you have Gilbert Arenas and Damon Jones in the same event, the potential for craziness is off the charts. Plus I'm telling you, don't sleep on the half court shots in the Shooting Stars contest! Very exciting in person.
After the game it's dinner and the clubs, hoping to catch some ballers, well, ballin'. I'm guessing I'll see at least a few, considering that I'll be at the Hard Rock where Paris Hilton is having a party that night. There's a high probability of me posting a Britney Spears up-skirt shot before Sunday morning, so stay tuned.
Sunday: Sleep, and recover from the last two days. Then check out the All-Star Game on the tube somewhere, before heading to the NBA's All-Star After Party at Mandalay Bay. It's probably going to be just David Stern with a bunch of corporate types, but you never know. And if it is, that's ok. After all, it will be Night Three for me in Vegas, and really, two nights in that town is enough for anyone.
So that's the plan, I'm obviously beyond ready (I think) for this crazy Vegas weekend. Now that I've written this all down, it looks like I'm probably taking two years off my life by even attempting this. I'll be checking in all weekend with reports, you can find them all here. Vegas baby, Vegas!
