BYU Raises Ticket Prices to Finance Stadium Upgrades

If you're a mid-major program looking to renovate your athletic facilities, you can either storm your way through a perfect season and use that sweet BCS Bowl cheese to finance your plans, or you can take the tiny payday of a Las Vegas Bowl bid and let your fans pick up the slack for the rest. Unfortunately, the first option isn't available for BYU, so instead they're raising ticket prices.

So, what's the damage?

Fans who paid $90 in 2006 for an end zone ticket will pay $96 this fall

Six bucks is pretty negligible, although $90 for a seat seems a tad bit high from my experience. Of course, then I continued reading the article...

a difference of $6, or a $1 increase per game.

Ah, $96 for season tickets. That makes a bit more sense. Anyway, here's a rundown of the scheduled improvements:

Future projects include repairing eroded concrete; resurfacing concourse walkways and stadium ramps; replacing and repairing stadium stairs; repainting stands (including rust abatement); installing new stadium field lighting; refurbishing a visiting locker room; creating a visiting-team press area; and constructing west-stadium hosting facilities.

Sounds swanky. I'll pitch in a buck for that.
