The oldest son of Eagles coach Andy Reid has entered a drug treatment program after admitting he was under the influence of heroin when he caused a car crash that injured another driver:
Garrett Reid, 23, a community-college student who lives at his parents' home in Villanova, was arraigned Friday on the misdemeanor assault, drug possession and other charges.
Andy Reid was not in court, but planned to accompany his son back to the out-of-state treatment facility after the hearing in Plymouth Township, lawyer Ross Weiss said.
Another Reid son, 21-year-old Britt, is charged with pointing a gun at a driver in a road-rage incident the same day. Reid has taken a leave of absence from the Eagles while he deals with his family issues.
I think the steroids-in-sports story has been overplayed in the last couple of years after several years of being underplayed. But now that we're in a time of acting as though steroids are the single worst thing ever to happen to the world of American sports, shouldn't we ask for some answers from a prominent coach whose son was using steroids under his roof?
