A quick Google search reveals that I'm not the only one who thinks Agent Zero looks kind of like Agent (Detective) Ed Green from Law & Order (aka actor Jesse L. Martin). They both have that cute, goofy puppy-dog face.
TNT was clearly trying to capitalize on this coincidental resemblance by showing a 24-hour marathon of the crime drama directly after the All-Star Game (either that or their one copy of Drumline finally melted down and they had nothing else to air). I never actually watch the show myself (too scary) but apparently L&O did an NBA-themed episode a couple of years back that combined the Sprewell strangling incident with the Auburn Hills "brawl" ... and a murder, of course. Bomp-bomp!
All of this got me thinking that I would love to see our favorite blog-wonder explore some television gigs one day. Nothing soapy a la Luke Walton, something more like a role as Detective Green's wayward younger brother. Apparently back in 1997 he guest starred in an episode of the teen sitcom Hangtime (YouTubizens, please, help a sista out and upload that clip). More recently, he had a guest spot on an episode of 24. For the future I could see Gil working some kind of hustle as a late night talk show side-kick or a variety show host or even a magician or televangelist. Alternatively, someone could just start a 24-hour network and stream video of him going about his business, brushing his teeth, muttering to himself, etc. OR maybe the new DC blog/Bog TV show thing will bring him on as an NBA blogging expert. For real guys, get to work on that -- I want my Gil TV!
