St. John's has surprised teams once or twice this season -- when at home. It doesn't seem likely tonight with Louisville being the hottest or second hottest team in the Big East and hosting the game. Still, it happens. Especially when the home team has a few key players from the NYC metro area. They tend to get juiced and a little overhyped because it is against the school they always hear about back home.Louisville has several key players from the NY/NJ area. Derrick Caracter, Earl Clark and Edgar Sosa. Most of the time, they speak nicely of St. John's and the history and tradition. Not Edgar Sosa. He just flat is not fond of the Red Storm.
"I hated St. John's and I still do hate St. John's," he said. "If I played bad this whole season, but played good against them, that would make my season. All the kids growing up in New York City liked them, but I never liked them even a little bit. When they started recruiting me I acted like I liked them, but I knew I wasn't going there."How do you really feel?
Actually, I find it refreshing when a player these days admits he doesn't like a team. None of that bland, talk of respect and admiring their history. Just plain, honest dislike.
