Which game best represents the Aaron Brooks era in Oakland? Was it when Brooks was sacked seven times in a 27-0 loss to the Chargers on Monday Night Football during the season opener? Or maybe it was the following week when Brooks fumbled nearly every snap he took against Baltimore before leaving the game with an injury. Not that the injury seemed suspicious, because at least Brooks was a better actor than Al Czervik. No the best example was when Kansas City's Jarrod Page intercepted Brooks' pass in the end zone during the closing seconds to preserve the Chiefs victory over the Raiders. That was the Brooks that most will fondly remember.
The Raiders have finally cut ties with Brooks, making a smart fiscal move because Brooks (get this) expected to get paid for that disaster last season. This doesn't necessarily mean that the Raiders will draft a quarterback with the first overall selection, rather that Lane Kiffin just might have an eye for talent (or lack of it), after all.
