The same faces might not have been present, but the Giants version of Spring Training American Idol was in session once again. Giantfan9 of Giants Jottings had all the details (via NBX and With Leather):
Omar Vizquel, was the announcer again this year. All of the other roles changed. Randy Winn replaced Ray Durham as Randy Jackson. Rich Aurilia replaced Jeff Fassero as Simon Cowell. Last year Barry Bonds dressed in drag to play Paula Abdul. I guess it was only logical that his new locker mate, Barry Zito, should take on the role this year. No offense to Zito, but he was a poor imitation of Bonds doing an imitation of Paula Abdul.
Unfortunately captain cranium cut the festivities short, but you can check out Giants Jottings to take a gander at the photos. Zito's a little short stacked for my taste, and Randy Winn could use some costume adjustments as well.
Amongst the requested songs were Fly me to the Moon, Around the World, Turn Around, and A Country Boy Can Survive. From the sounds of things, it wasn't as good as last year's Idol. Howeva, Kevin Frandsen's rendition of Anchorman apparently stole the show -- all he was missing was the jazz flute.
