Redskins Looking to Move Portis? Giants Interested?

I want to make it clear that this rumor is coming from Draft Daddy and I haven't heard a single word about it elsewhere. I have no idea how credible they are but they claim to have an "inside source" feeding them information from the combine in Indianapolis.

Apparently the Redskins are content with Ladell Betts carrying the load next year and are now looking to obtain draft picks in exchange for Clinton Portis. One of the teams mentioned to be interested is the New York Giants, who are clearly looking for a running back to replace Tiki Barber. It seems unlikely to me that the Redskins would trade a star running back to a division rival but they may be that desperate for picks.

Portis would be a great option for the Giants and I think would really fit the system. He's much more valuable then any free agents and minus Michael Turner, would be the best running back on the trade block. I hope that the Giants fully pursue Portis if these rumors prove to be true.

Other teams that were mentioned to have interest were the New York Jets and the New England Patriots.
